I was intrigued to begin this book. As a collection of short stories it is well balanced and grouped. The focus mainly on women overcoming obstacles in life and finding strength. I enjoyed the perspective as the African Culture is not one that I am very familiar with. It really was enlightening to see things and see the cultural differences not only in the way things were handled for these women but also their own reactions to the situations. It can be a bit hard to read at times, as you struggle through with these women but it is worth it. For those who enjoy inspirational books this one will be perfect for you.
